Shangri-La

Shangri-La is a county-level city that in Tibetan means "the sun and moon in the heart". It became widely admired in the 1930s when British author James Hilton depicted it in his novel Lost Horizon. The Shangri-La Tibetan region has a long history, stunning natural landscapes, and attractions such as Pudacuo National Park, Dukezong Ancient City, Gandan Songzanlin Monastery and Tiger Leaping Gorge.
